About Richard Richard is a life long resident of Carleton County, the son of Winston and Patricia Reid. He and his wife Gail (the daughter of Lester and Laura Jean Antworth of Knoxford) presently live on the homestead where he was raised in Jacksonville. Richard with three sisters and Gail with four brothers and a sister both experienced the joys and priorities of life in rural Carleton County. Service to community and church were interwoven in the family fabric. Following graduation from the Southern Carleton Regional High School, Richard began employment with The Carleton Memorial Hospital where he moved through the ranks into senior management eventually serving as facility manager at the time of it closure in 2007. Richard’s entrepeneureal spirit lead him to purchase the Britton Funeral Home in the 1980s. Under his ownership the business underwent a dramatic upgrade which enhanced the high level of service historically offered by the Britton family. One of the criteria for the sale of the home in 1995 was an owner who could continue this tradition of service. The Reid cottage on First Eel River Lake is an epicentre of fun, friends, family and faith. It is here that Richard enjoys his favourite past times of boating and water skiing while entertaining a constant flow of friends both old and new. Richard’s life as a realtor with Exit Realty Platinum affords him the satisfaction of giving his all to the client and offering them that extra level of professionalism with new an innovative marketing and communication tools. The three most important words in the real estate culture for Richard are “Service, Service, Service”. |
